New air filter
Tasks performed:
− Original MINI Air Filter replaced by MINI Service Centre experts, ensuring correct fit and optimal engine performance
Note:
Each MINI engine has its own model-specific air filter. Criteria for suitability include optimal air quantities and flow-through speed. MINI filters clean induction air, reduce induction noises and help to reduce fuel consumption and protect the environment. Up to 99.9% of all dust and other pollutants are filtered out, which helps to protect the engine. When the MINI is driven normally in normal conditions, the filters do not need to be changed until 60 000-100 000 km are on the clock.
Engine oil service
Tasks performed:
− Engine oil and oil filter replaced
− Micro filter for heating/air-con replaced
− Service interval indicator reset according to manufacturer's specifications
− Average strength of front and rear brake pads measured.
If brake pads are replaced: brake shaft cleaned; surface and strength of brake discs tested; wheel-centring hub of light-alloy wheels lubricated*
− Handbrake checked for correct function; adjusted as necessary
− Handbrake repaired according to manufacturer's specifications (if necessary)
* Costs extra
Note:
Developed for your specific MINI models, MINI oil filters are extremely compact and extremely robust. Thanks to synthetic fibres, they have a filtration surface of 1 655 cm², which can prevent particles as small as 0.005 millimetres from entering the engine compartment. The filters protect the engine so effectively that they prolong not only its life, but also the intervals between oil changes.
New micro filter for air-con
Tasks performed:
− Old filter disassembled
− New filter installed by MINI Service experts
− Used material disposed of in accordance with environmental regulations
Note:
The MINI micro filter in your air-conditioning system does its job three times over, filtering mechanically, electrostatically and with active charcoal. In this way, MINI passengers are protected from both solid and gaseous pollutants. Its mechanical filter surface is an incredible 200 000 square metres − as a 5mm-wide tape, it would stretch around the equator, probably with room to spare!
New windscreen wiper blades
Tasks performed:
− Old blades disassembled by MINI Service Centre experts and replaced with Original MINI Windscreen Wiper Blades, thus ensuring optimal fit and function
Note:
MINI windscreen wiper blades are not just any old blades. With a built-in spoiler, they exert extra pressure on the windscreen, which is particularly helpful for removing dead insects, for example. Thanks to their aerodynamic shape and high proportion of synthetic materials, MINI windscreen wiper blades are both robust and long-lasting. The material mix also helps to eliminate irritating squeaking noises. MINI windscreen wipers let you have a clear view ahead even after 200 hours of continuous use, even at high speeds.
New battery
Tasks performed:
− Old battery removed and disposed of in accordance with environmental regulations
− New battery installed
− Battery registered
Note:
Calcium: not only good for your bones, but also good for your MINI. The MINI battery contains a silver-calcium alloy that increases anti-corrosion properties and resistance to temperature fluctuations. The tried-and-tested, long-lasting, maintenance-free MINI batteries meet and exceed all current standards and provide your MINI with just the right amount of start-up energy. Filled and fully-charged when fitted, they are then registered, as only when a MINI battery is registered can all efficiency and comfort functions (e.g. Auto Start Stop or stationary heating) still be guaranteed after the battery has been replaced.
New clutch
Tasks performed:
− Exhaust system disassembled
− Drive shaft disassembled
− Transmission disassembled
− Clutch disassembled
− New clutch installed and cleaned
− Transmission installed and cleaned
− Transmission oil checked and refilled as necessary*
− Drive shaft reinstalled
− Exhaust system reinstalled
* Costs extra; price depends on amount required
Note:
It's the hydraulics in the MINI clutch that make gear changes so crisp, yet so smooth. Because it's the hydraulics that eliminate the need for any maintenance work on the clutch for the 120 000 km or more that a clutch deals with in its operating life (under normal driving conditions. As the hydraulics contain no asbestos or lead, they can be disposed of in an environmentally-friendly manner. As with all MINI parts, each clutch undergoes several rigorous tests before it's considered worthy enough to be part of a MINI.
New spark plugs
Tasks performed:
− Spark plugs replaced
Note:
Long motorway journeys, stop and go, cold starts at the crack of dawn: spark plugs have to withstand a great deal of strain and, at the same time, perform strenuous tasks. Thankfully, there are MINI High-Power Spark Plugs, which are specially designed for specific MINI engines and their engine-management system. Made of resistant, high-quality materials such as iridium and platinum, these spark plugs guarantee maximum performance even under the most extreme conditions.
New starter
Tasks performed:
− Starter disassembled and replaced by MINI Service experts, thus ensuring optimal fit and function
Info:
Maintenance-free and made of top-quality materials, MINI starters are designed for up to 50 000 starts, even at temperatures fluctuating from -40°C to + 100 °C. With an average of 20 000 starts per year, that adds up to a life expectancy of 25 years. And they're light, too: they weigh up to 40% less than conventional starters, which helps to reduce fuel consumption. Before being installed, MINI starters undergo a series of strict tests, which guarantees the best possible protection against external influences.
New water pump
Tasks performed:
− Existing cooling liquids drained from radiator, brake fluid reservoir and engine block
− Cooling liquid refilled; cooling circuit aerated
− Anti-freeze concentration in cooling liquid checked
− Water pump installed
− Optical test for leaks and damage
Note:
Every MINI engine has its own individual characteristics. Similarly, every MINI engine has its own specific water pump. Designed with the utmost precision, these pumps can be used even in the most extreme temperature conditions (from approx. -25 °C to +150 °C). In line with high MINI standards, their seat is caulked rather than pressed. These standards also require a 100-hour endurance test to establish the pumping quality. Why go to all that trouble? The MINI water pump plays a crucial role in ensuring that other vehicle aggregates function correctly − which, in turn, goes towards guaranteeing the overall good health of your MINI.
